Trying all possible combinations MIGHT net you an hour of gameplay with 5-20 minutes being more realistic. Three or four levels of equivalent detail - a point where the game stands up solidly - with cumulative effects of your choices could be interesting. As is, however? Not worth it.. One of the worst games I have played. Out of the 45 minutes I played, 43 was just reading. Extremely boring and not much to do in the game. You talk to the people and look around the place, then decide to kill one of them. That's it. Do not waste your time on this game.. Such a disappointment! The clunky controls and sub-par graphics could have been ameliorated by a compelling narrative or engaging game-play, but "Postmortem" lacked both. The characters were unlikable, the setting was incongruous and anachronistic, and the narrative (such as it was) felt like something a high-school student would have thrown together after half-ignoring a lecture on the prelude to the First World War. The creators clearly assumed that only the most superficial of details from the late 1800s/early 1900s would have differed from the present, and it makes the game feel...childish. But the game's greatest failing lies in the fact that, for a game that is 99% text and reading, there seems to have been NO editing or proofreading done! Sentences end mid-statement, words are missing from many sentences, misspellings abound, and the grammar and syntax are often TERRIBLE. The premise offered so much promise, but the execution was sorely lacking.. ehhhh. I liked the idea, but there's so little actual game. It feels over in 10 minutes and I have very little interest in replaying to find out the 'true' goings on.. There is a free basic version on the official game website. If you ask me, you better first check it before buying Extended Cut edition on Steam. While the idea of Postmortem: one must die might be neat, it doesn't feel much like a game. Sure, it is a game, but there is so little of gameplay. I was hoping for something more. It was really disappointing and not worth the money.. I don't know why so many people complain about this game. It's an ok......What do you mean, the game is over? That was just the tutorial level, right?...RIGHT?!. Well, maybe I'm just a little evil at heart ...Cuz, I enjoyed this game or maybe it was just the fact that I could pick a person to kill, lol....In fact, liked it so much I played it twice!...I mean don't get me wrong, it's not perfect ...but with a few improvements like more characters and maybe some more history about each them, this could be a really nice game..It's so different that I couldn't help but like it...I not going to add all the other facts like how long the game play is or graphic's ect, Cuz others have already stated this..But if you like dark, short story driven games and don't mind putting the effort into reading, this could be a game you enjoy!..The price here on steam is set a little to high, but you can pick this up on sale or in bundles for real cheap!. Very short. It left me wanting more of course. I hope the game had more than just this one scene. There are various other issues that one can put into such a good conccept of a game. The replayability is rather good but then again I would prefer more scenes and story archs that would then influence each other. A larger story arch and fleshing out the character of death would make this game really good. I felt like this was merely a teaser for an actual game and it got me hooked and wanting more. / I hope for more updates expanding the story and wish the developers good luck!. A great example of a short, focused game concentrating on freedom of choice, sociopolitical questions and narrative, worth playing several times. Graphics are simple and attractive. I really enjoyed it, both for its own sake and as a fascinating indie experiment in game design, world building and storytelling. My reservation is some grammatical errors and poor word choices, which are especially intrusive in a dialogue based game with some highly educated characters. It's a great game, but all that would be needed to correct this flaw someone to give a SPAG and character voice check before publishing or on a future update. It's also a bit short for its full Steam price, but YMMV.For all that, I'm a fan.
